General
Populate your documents with custom values and dynamic data. The Pre-fill with custom values bot gives you full flexibility to pre-fill document fields with specific values, formulas, or data derived from various sources within your workflow.
Use case example: A business needs to populate documents with calculated values based on recipient information, document templates, or other custom logic that can't be directly mapped from a single data source.
How to set up
When the bot works by default:
The Pre-fill with custom values bot activates before a document is sent for signing or before a recipient opens it.
To add the bot to a step, click the three dots in this step and select Add bot to step.
Search for the bot you need by category or using the search bar. Then, install the bot to your workflow by clicking the Install bot button.
Action settings
In the Link and pre-fill data section, select a data transfer method.
- Single line method means that you transfer custom values to single line fields.
- Table method means that you transfer custom values to table fields.
Next, select a document to map the data. Click Add field and add custom values to the selected document fields. Then click Select to continue.
To add more fields, click the Add field button and repeat the process. To add values to multiple documents, click Add another document.
Conditions
Configure the bot execution conditions based on simple "if-this-then-that" rules. For example, you can set conditions based on document field information, recipient data, date of document signing, document data, and decline reason. Learn more about bot conditions usage in the dedicated article.
