Salesforce pages may overlay after clicking custom buttons

Fix Salesforce page overlays that appear when clicking altaFlow custom buttons — disable Debug Mode for Lightning Components to resolve.

Some users may see Salesforce pages overlaying when using an altaFlow custom button. This happens when you click Back to record before the document has opened in a new tab, leaving both views rendered on top of each other.

Salesforce page overlay after clicking an altaFlow custom button in Lightning

Cause

This issue occurs when Debug Mode is enabled for Lightning Components in your Salesforce org. Debug Mode changes how Lightning renders new tabs and can leave the previous page visible underneath the record view.

Resolution

Disable Debug Mode for Lightning Components in Salesforce Setup. Salesforce provides the full steps in the official Salesforce documentation — see Enable and Disable Debug Mode for Lightning Components. Once Debug Mode is off, refresh the record and click the altaFlow custom button again — the document should open cleanly in a new tab without the overlay.
