Add the Documents component for Salesforce Experience Cloud

Set up the Documents component to display documents for portal visitors directly in Salesforce Experience Cloud

If your organization uses Salesforce Experience Cloud to create or manage a portal, you can now add the Documents component to it. The component displays documents for portal visitors that they need to fill out, sign, view, or download.

This is useful when you send documents to clients, contractors, students, or other external users who access your Salesforce portal but aren't part of your internal team.

What portal users see

When a user opens your Experience Cloud portal, the Documents component shows all documents sent to them. From the component, they can:

  • View documents

  • Fill out and sign documents

  • Download completed documents

How to set it up

Step 1: Add the Documents component to your portal

Open your Experience Cloud portal in Experience Builder and place the Documents component on the relevant page. The component adapts to your portal's layout and works on both desktop and mobile.

Step 2: Add portal users as guests in altaFlow

For portal users to access their documents, they need to be added to altaFlow as guests.

  1. In altaFlow, go to Settings and turn on Allow guest access.

  2. Go to Teammates in the left navigation.

  3. Select the users you want to add as guests.

  4. In the toolbar that appears, click Add as guest.

Guests can only access documents sent to them. They can't create workflows or manage team settings.
