Customize the Thank you page

Customize the altaFlow Thank you page: turn on Recipient registration, enable multi-document flow, set your default layout, and override text per recipient.

The Thank you page is the final screen your recipients land on after completing the documents you sent them. You can decide what options to offer them on that page — for example, letting them open the next documents for completion or create their own altaFlow account — and you can match the page to your brand by customizing the hero image, colors, text, and button.

Recipient settings (account creation & multi-document completion)

Two settings control what recipients can do from the Thank you page: Recipient registration and Fill out multiple documents at once. Both live in your Workspace settings and apply across all your workflows. Both are turned off by default.

  1. Click your profile avatar in the lower-left corner.

  2. Select My workspace.

  3. Open the Workspace settings tab.

  4. Scroll to Recipient settings.

Recipient registration option

When this setting is on, the Thank you page includes a Create account button that lets recipients create their own altaFlow account in a couple of clicks. Useful when you want them to access their completed documents later, or to start building their own workflows.

Once they sign up, they'll get their own workspace and the document they just completed will be available in their Inbox.

If the recipient already has an altaFlow account but isn't signed in, clicking Create account will prompt them to log in instead.

If Recipient registration is off, recipients without an account simply download their completed copy and close the tab — they won't be prompted to create an account.

Fill out multiple documents at once

Some recipients receive several packages of documents in a row. When this setting is on, the Thank you page shows a Next documents button and a card with the next package, so recipients can keep going without returning to their email.

If the recipient has no more documents in the queue, the button doesn't appear. If this setting is off, recipients will need to open the next link from their email.

Set the default Thank you page layout

Soon you'll be able to design the Thank you page so it looks like your brand — pick a hero image, choose colors, write your own title and body, and set the button. Whatever you set here becomes the default look for every workflow in your workspace.

To open the layout editor, go to Workspace settings →Branding → Thank you page. You'll see a side-by-side editor: customization options on the left, a live preview on the right.

What you'll be able to change

  • Hero image — pick a banner image and the background color behind it. Use the default altaFlow one or upload your own.

  • Title — the big heading at the top (default: "Thank you").

  • Body text — a short message below the title (default: "You can now download a copy of the completed documents.").

  • Button — pick what the main button does (for example, Download documents) and what it says (for example, Download).

Each of those blocks has an on/off switch — turn off anything you don't want on the page. There's also a Desktop / Mobile toggle in the preview so you can check how it looks on both before you save.

When you're done, click Update layout in the top-right corner. The new look takes effect for the next signing session.

Customize text for each recipient in a workflow

Sometimes you'll want a slightly different message for a specific recipient — for example, special instructions in an internal-approval step, or a tailored sign-off for a customer-facing step. You can override the Thank you page text for just that recipient without touching the workspace default.

How to do it:

  1. Open your workflow and select the Recipient step you want to customize.

  2. In the recipient panel on the right, expand the Customization section.

  3. Click Preview and edit next to the Thank you page.

The editor that opens looks similar to the workspace one, but only the text fields (title and body) are editable here. The hero image, colors, and button stay the same as the workspace default. Your changes apply only to this recipient in this step — other recipients and other workflows aren't touched.

Want to undo the change? Reopen the editor and reset the field — that recipient will go back to the workspace default text.

Common use cases

A few examples of how teams combine these settings in practice:

HR onboarding with multiple forms

A new-hire workflow that includes an offer letter, W-4, direct-deposit form, and an employee handbook acknowledgment. Turn on Fill out multiple documents at once so the new hire moves through all four packages without going back to email between each one. Customize the title to "Welcome to [Company]!" with body text that explains what happens after they finish.

Client legal agreements

A law firm sending engagement letters. Customize the Hero image and Background color to match the firm's branding, set the Title to "Engagement confirmed", and use per-recipient text overrides to acknowledge the specific matter for each client.

Customer signup via document completion

A sales workflow where prospects sign an order form or NDA. Turn on Recipient registration so customers who finish the form are prompted to create an altaFlow account — giving them a workspace to manage their future agreements and invoices, and turning the document completion into the start of a longer relationship.

Internal approval chains

An internal expense or PTO approval workflow where recipients are colleagues. Strip the page back — disable the Hero image and Button blocks, leaving just a clean "Thanks — your approval has been recorded" message. No external-facing branding is needed.
